The Federal Reserve (FED) serves as the central banking system of the United States. It regulates bank, financial and S&L/thrift holding companies along with state-chartered member banks of the Federal Reserve System and foreign branches of member banks. As it relates to the ALLL, the FED is responsible for enforcing legislation on its constituencies to ensure the safety and soundness of their operations.
